Crops Pollinated

Estimated Value of the Honey Bee to U.S. Crop Production

A Cornell University study has estimated that honey bees annually pollinate more than $14 billion worth of seeds and crops in the United States. Some crops are almost singulary dependent on the honey bee for pollination (90-100% proportion of these are pollinated by the honey bee). These include apples, almonds, onions, broccoli, carrots, sunflower, cantaloupe and honeydew. Below is a listing of other plants that are dependent on the honey bee along with an updated virtual beekeeping guide on insect pollination.
